Terms of Service
1. The service
malesedi.ai ("MaLesedi", "we" or "the service") provides a South African AI chat service. MaLesedi.ai is operated by AppForge AI Holdings (Pty) Ltd t/a malesedi.ai (registration number 2026/353476/07) of 802 Wiedrigh Street, Moreleta Park, Pretoria, 0044, South Africa, which is the supplier and payment recipient for paid subscriptions. AppForge AI Holdings is not registered for VAT and prices do not include VAT. By creating an account or using the service, you agree to these terms. If you do not agree, do not use MaLesedi.
2. Your account
Provide accurate sign-up information, keep your login secure and do not share an account. You are responsible for activity under your account. You must be 18 or older, or use MaLesedi with the consent and supervision of a parent or legal guardian.
3. The 15-message trial
Each account receives one lifetime trial of 15 chat messages. It is not a daily or monthly allowance and does not reset. The trial uses the same zero-data-retention, no-prompt-training AI ladder as Lite. Trial messages cannot include attachments and must be no longer than 4,000 characters. Do not submit personal, confidential, financial, medical, identity or account information through the trial.
4. Paid subscriptions
The current paid plans are Lite at R49/month (R490/year), Plus at R99/month (R990/year), Pro at R199/month (R1,990/year) and Max at R349/month (R3,490/year). Annual prices provide 12 months for the price of 10. PayFast processes checkout and recurring charges for the billing period you select. Prices are shown in South African rand before you approve payment.
Paid plans include a fair-use everyday-chat allowance and a monthly smart-credit pool for more expensive turns. Pro and Max describe everyday chat as unlimited subject to fair use; smart credits, service protections and cost controls still apply. No plan guarantees continuous availability or a particular upstream model. Current entitlements and usage are shown in the app. Material price changes will be disclosed before they apply to a future renewal.
You can cancel renewal in account Settings. Cancellation takes effect at the end of the current paid period, so access continues until then, subject to plan limits and these terms. Cancellation alone does not create an automatic pro-rata refund. Our Refunds and Cancellation Policy explains how refund requests and statutory rights are handled.
5. Products not included
Prepaid message packs, stokvel shared wallets, sponsored conversations, BYOK, MCP services, code and cowork runners, design generation, donations and community payouts are not part of the current launch. MzansiMind and UbuntuMind are skills-library concepts, not subscription plans. Roadmap material is not a promise that a feature, payment programme or launch date will occur.
6. Acceptable use
Do not use MaLesedi to break the law, harm others, create or distribute malicious material, violate rights, obtain another person's data, bypass usage controls, overload the service or reverse-engineer its protected systems. We may restrict or suspend accounts where needed to enforce these rules, protect users or comply with law.
7. AI output
AI responses can be incomplete, incorrect or unsuitable. Verify important information and use professional advice where appropriate. MaLesedi is not a substitute for medical, legal, financial or other regulated professional advice. You decide whether and how to use an output; MaLesedi does not act outside the chat for you.
8. Your content and privacy
As between you and MaLesedi, you retain your rights in the content you submit. You are responsible for having permission to submit it. We process personal information as described in our Privacy Policy, including cross-border processing by cloud, identity, payment and AI service providers.
9. Availability, changes and liability
MaLesedi is an early-access service and is provided on an "as-is" and "as-available" basis. Features may change, and outages or upstream-provider failures can occur. Keep your own copy of important information. To the maximum extent South African law permits, our total liability is limited to the amount you paid us in the three months before the claim. Nothing in these terms excludes or limits a right or remedy that cannot lawfully be excluded or limited.
